Another baby cardi but will have to change the buttons, one short...
Wonderful stone wall Pete has recently made.

 My dodder basket I made.
Of course everybody has to come and 'help' me sandwich my quilt.....

I am in the throes of doing an exhibition for the Year of the Farmer at the local museum, taking the form of a history of farming in the Furneaux. I am finding it alot more time consuming and stressful than I thought I would, but it's almost finished now, thank goodness.

hello!

Having trouble with blogger....

Nostalgia

Last week we went to Agfest in Tassie. I got all nostalgic for mud, dairy cows and calves... and the old tractors of my childhood on a dairy farm at West Pine, on the north west coast of Tas. I remember it as a fairytale place, the creeks, dams, ferns, platypus and beautiful garden and orchard, all very idyllic. And seeing fairies, pixies, elves with my grandfather, we really did!!!

My friend's mare and foal on Pete's old family farm here on Flinders, that has just been sold again.
This is the clutch in the farm's old Bedford truck. It is an old door hinge. The truck used to be on an outer island and necessity was  the mother of invention out there!
My latest baby cardi, copied from Pea Soup! For my neice's baby due in September.
 Pillingers Peak, we painted yesterday.
Opposite Pillingers is Strezlecki.

Pumpkins!!

Pete's pumpkin crop. I don't think we or any of our friends are going to need to buy any pumpkins all winter!

More things I've knitted this year.

Knitting

Terrible over exposed photo of little cardi I knitted for baby William. I am learning to knit from the neck down on circular needles. And to follow American patterns, a challenge for me! I knitted the sleeves on 4 needles.
A teeny tiny cardi for my  neice's baby who is expected in the Springtime. Copied from Pea  Soup, I love Ravelry! Made from neck down too although I didn't realise to begin with!
 A cowl for me...

 A cowl for Brita.
Paint Brush flowers or Elephant Ear bulbs, that are at the elephant ear stage now.

April birdies - blue wrens and white eyes

Birdies outside our bathroom window. We had a bevy of quail come and live under the rosemary bush right beside our busy kitchen door and were happily exclaiming that our two hand me down cats were now obviously too old  to bother chasing birds and with that our 16 year old cat caught one..... ggrrrrrr

Datura doing its thing again, smells so lovely at dusk.

I think I am going to run out of wool, drat!

I'm so Lucky!

Here is my BEAUTIFUL pot I received from Julie Whitmore, all the way from California to Flinders Island! I was lucky enough to win it as a giveaway recently from Julie's beautiful blog.Thankyou so much Julie, it was extremely generous of you and I couldn't be more pleased with it!

This is the lovely dish of Julie's that Sarah gave more for Christmas. Julie's sweet whimsical pottery makes me happy and cheery just to look at it. Just what I need at the moment.

Chloe

We had to have our dearest Chloe put down yesterday. She was almost 10 years old. So hard to believe it is actually 10 years ago that she was this darling little puppy. Tragically she had the inherited eye degenerative disorder toy poodles are susceptible to having, even though she was guaranteed not to. The vet said she was in a lot of pain from pressure in her eyes which were also totally blind. Chloe had a very gentle, sweet personality and the house is so empty without her. Coco is very quiet and sad seeming.......
