My hippiestrum, photo does not do it justice.

Tropolium, which is a species of nasturtium.

I had a lovely time a few weeks ago attacking my vines covering this fireplace with all its objects d'art....

Pete made me this lovely little coop for my broody chooks to hatch their eggs in but unfortunately, either our chooks or our rooster are too old. Someone gave me a lovely little broody hen and she sat for over three weeks. We then broke the eggs and they were all rotten. We put another setting under her and the result was the same. Very disappointing. She is now happily running around with the others, she is a pretty little brown speckly thing. Next we are going to try and capture and black and white speckly rooster up with some wild chooks up the road.

Wet August

What is normally a trickle has become a raging torrent into the ocean.

After drought for five years it has been so fantastic to have nearly seven inches of rain in August. The water table has risen and the grass is growing.

We had nearly seven inches of rain in August.

Quilt and cauliflower

Quilt made from Kim(?) Porter patches I bought in a celophane packet from Liberty in London. When I got home and unwrapped them I found they were from lots of old sheets which were in this house when we bought it! No wonder I could afford them in Liberty!! But I love them just the same!!!

I grew this cauli!!!

Beautiful island

Aren't I lucky to live somewhere so beautiful.
My pincushion hakea has never flowered so well! Today I weeded a bit in the vegie garden and planted some rainbow chard and winter lettuces.

My Clivia lilies are very happy in the fernery, I hope they flower better than usual this year.

I went watercolour painting today with our painting group, it was foggy all day which is very unusual over here. It was very cold when we were painting too.
