Missoni and Staffordshire.

Made myself a couple of Missoni skirts, so unbelievably quick and simple to make and comfortable to wear.

I've always loved staffordshire china and recently bought these two in a lovely antique shop in Newlyn, Victoria. The big one has had a severe break through her waist and his neck  but has been repaired a very long time ago. I think it just adds to their charm but it was accordingly, very cheap.

The spaniels came from an auction.

Baby Sophisticates

More Baby Sophisticates for our bubby.

Made some book marks inspired by my Liberty diary.
Have never grown lilac like this before in our roaring 40s garden.
I made myself this simple tunic using a favourite old tunic for a pattern.

London

Back in July/August we went to London to see our new grandson who is completely beautiful!
 Angel on St Pauls.
An extremely large foot in the British Museum. So old and so  breathtakingly perfect.
We went to Loop. I actually held a little Julie Arkell creation in my hand.
And in the British Museum I saw two Mrs Delany collages.

More baby knitting and liberty lawn hexagon quilt

Love knitting these little cardis from baby bamboo. Knitting in one piece  from neck down is very easy and fun to do.
Have begun a hexagons quilt from 2 inch hexagons, my ambition is a king sized quilt, ha! I am making it from Liberty tana lawn only, I have been collecting  it since the 70s so I have quite a stash. Anyway this as far as I've got.....

Finished the cot quilt. The main orange-y liberty fabric is very quirky with houses on fire, factories, windmills, man working on allotment garden, prams, bears in racing cars, quite odd but lovely.

Olive picking

I went olive picking at our friend's olive grove yesterday. We harvested about 100 kilos of olives which will produce about 5 litres of olive oil. Makes you appreciate olive oil even more. However Flinders Island does produce particularly beautiful olive oil. (Correction we picked about 140 kilos which will produce about 18 litres of olive oil)

Cot quilt

Cot sized baby quilt I am making from calico and liberty scraps. For our grandchild of course!
Not many flowers in my poor garden now. We are still desperate for rain. We had very little spring rain and still no decent autumn break as yet. Our poor sheep need GRASS.

Strezlecki

Sometimes we wonder why we live here, so remote, so expensive, but this is why.
My garden has been full of Wanderer butterflies for weeks.
