Front gardens and snake

Mulched with sugar cane mulch, new front garden beds are coming along.

Pete killed this a little while ago near the house, 5 foot tiger snake, we only kill them if they are really close to the house.

Garden and Olive

Pear tree. My garden is berserk, so many beautiful things are out but the weeds are so ahead of me. I am spreading sugarcane  mulch, hopefully it is weed free, unlike our old hay. I can't seem to download many piccies, is it because of slow internet?
Olive reclining, from being a shy little person who lived upstairs she is boldly taking over the whole house.

Unicorn quilt

I have finally finished my unicorn quilt using Heather ? 's 'far far away' fabric and alot of liberty tana lawn... and other stuff. This quilt has a big booboo in it (which luckily you can't see with it blowing in the breeze) but it is all hand stitched, not a machine stitch in it. But I cannot get my computer to load photos very well, it will load a couple from my new camera and then stop. Very frustrating! I have got lots of photos to show.

Clive

Our beloved Clive died last month. He was a big cat with a big personality and he leaves a big Clive shaped hole in our house. He was 16 years old.

jette arundal bowl, robins and roses

Aren't robins magical? Every time I go outside this one is singing to me from a finial, he flies from finial to finial, definitely telling me something mystical.
My Jette Arundal bowl Sar gave me for my birthday....I beyond love it, flash photo not the best shot of it.

New garden wall, we planted more roses.....

Ben Lomond

I have a new camera but blogger doesn't like it, takes forever to upload photos.... Ben Lomond on my birthday, camera's first photos. And dear old Balf.

Baby hat, Coco, quilt and Mrs Delany

Loved knitting this 'pea soup' baby hat...
I am quilting away on this, my 'far far away'  quilt, hope to get it all done before Sar gets home in mid July but I probably won't.

Tomorrow we are 'going away', that is flying off the island for a few days. I always feel a bit stressed out about leaving 'this' behind, she is already getting anxious. when I get the suitcases out she will really go to pieces.
I had really hoped we would get the museum exhibition, Farming in the Furneaux, finíshed before we left but still a bit more to do.....
I have been finding this a very soporific read. I love it though, fascinating and inspiring. I would like to have a go at collaging flowers on a black background.

Gardening

We have been busy in the garden this afternoon. Pete is about to start building the second stone wall along the front. We want to have a good barrier against the kikuya grass which makes a good lawn but it hell to keep out of the garden beds. Once it gets amonst the plants it is impossible to eradicate.
I have been massacaring  pelagoniums and weeding my  weed vegie patch.
 a winter rose
 Happy wanderer wandering...
I love this plant, like a green critter...
