More progress!!

More clean ups

Our house has been surrounded by terrible, old, dying, falling macracarpas.

Over and over we have had done what we've done today. Had the excavator in, at great expense, to get rid of them. We have had some of the wood milled and used it here and there, on the old stable walls for example. The trees left still look pretty awful.........

11 years.......

I have been waiting 11 years for this moment. The ugly shed outside our kitchen window has now been painted and is no longer glaring zincalume.

Pete has also given it such a wonderful facelift, with verandah, etc. It is so nice, I love it! The top photo is of it when it was a racing stable back in the 20s? 30s? 40s?

This wedding is making us get so many things done, although the To Do list just keeps on growing........

Doll's house painting.......

Olive is right at home now, ruling the roost in fact. She is using the pet door. I am progressively moving her kitty litter closer to the pet door each day and am about to put it outside, hopefully, she will start using 'outside' for her litter tray....

I have been doing lots of little bits of painting, spurred on by the impending wedding here. I painted the little dormer window and now it looks like it has always been there, instead of the new replacement that it is. Then I painted the doll's house white on the outside instead of its 80's paint job of green and yellow. I am looking forward to redecorating it, after the wedding......

So far this year I have read Ransom by David Malouf which I loved and now I am reading Great House by Nicole Krauss which I also love.........

I have been cleaning our back verandah while the weather is foul.

Cleaned up my painting table and surrounds.

Olive likes her photo being taken about as much as I do.
Poor little puss, the back verandah is her domain as she is kept out of the rest of the house by a lot of thugs.........

Rain

We have had 86.2 mls of rain so far this year, for which we are very grateful but our hearts are with those in the North........
